Dearth Automotive, located in Monroe, WI, is accepting applications for our Automotive Sales Consultant role! Responsibilities include developing buyers and keeping/building relationships with previous and new customers. Previous automotive background or sales experience is preferred. Responsibilities:

  • Develop buyers by keeping good rapport with previous and new customers; suggesting trade-ins, respond to inquiries, recommend sales campaigns and promotions
  • Qualify buyers by understanding their interests and requirements and matching them to various models
  • Close sales, complete sales or purchase contracts and explain provisions

Primary Duties:

  • Understand automobiles by studying their features and capabilities, as well as, comparing and contrasting competitive models
  • Update own job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities
  • Figure out customer needs by actively listening and asking relevant direct questions
  • Perform walk around with customers and demonstrate features of suitable vehicles
  • Ensure customer understands all operating features, paperwork and warranties
  • Establish and maintain a follow-up system which encourages repeat business and referrals
  • Report to sales manager regarding reviews, analyses, objectives and planned activities
  • Review sales statistics and plan effectively to improve sales

Qualifications:

  • Associates degree or comparable work experience
  • At least 1-3 years of sales experience; vehicle sales is preferred
  • Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and a good driving record
  • Possess understanding and knowledge of equity and values, automobile depreciation and local, state, and federal laws that guide automobiles
  • Excellent communication, both verbal and written; must be able to explain technical information in a clear way
  • Must be able to sell minimum quota according to dealership standards
  • Possess a persuasive, self-confidant and positive attitude
  • Excellent mathematical, computer, and customer service skills
  • Ability to prioritize and handle numerous tasks simultaneously
  • Must be highly organized, detail oriented, and results driven
  • Ability to work 8-10 hour days
  • Ability to work outdoors and in an environment with occasional exposure to weather elements
